PMTC volleyball team to compete in Suriname tourney

The Port Mourant Training Centre (PMTC) volleyball team left for Suriname on Wednesday to participate in the Yellowbird Volleyball Club tournament.

The tournament begins today (Thursday) and runs until Sunday.
The four-day tournament was organised in observance of the club’s 50th anniversary celebrations The PMTC team will come up against teams from French Guiana, Martinique, Trinidad, Brazil and hosts Suriname in a tournament that is expected to produce some fireworks.
Port Mourant, by virtue of being the best placed finisher for local teams in the last Guyana Volleyball Federation/ Tradewind Tankers International tourney last November was invited to represent Guyana.
The team is coached by former national player and current Head Coach Levi Nedd; the team also includes national senior and junior players, the inspirational captain Jason Seelochan, Quacy Matherson, Seon Glasgow and Leon David among others. The manager is Godwyn Allicock.
